Caregiving FAQ Online Courses, Practicals, and Flexibility
Choosing the right caregiving course is an important step towards building a meaningful, practical and internationally relevant career. First Class Caregiving understands that students often have questions before they enrol, especially when it comes to online learning, practical training, certificates, payment options and job opportunities.
This caregiving FAQ has been created to help you find clear answers in one convenient place. Whether you are based in South Africa, elsewhere in Africa, or planning to use your qualification internationally, our online caregiving courses are designed to give you flexible access to quality training from wherever you are.
Our goal is to make professional caregiving education more accessible, structured and supportive, while giving students the confidence to take the next step in their caregiving journey.
We have two South African placement programmes that students may join once they finish their course.
We also have information on job sponsorship placement companies available in the UK, most European countries, Australia, and the UAE. Other first-world countries also accept our qualifications, and we have excellent reviews from students who are working abroad with our qualifications.
While job placement opportunities depend on the requirements of employers, agencies, and destination countries, we aim to support students with useful information and pathways after they complete their training.
You would have to register for the course, complete it and do the exam quiz, to obtain a certificate of completion from First Class Caregiving.
You have two options: the online caregiving course and the in-class caregiving course.
The cost of the in-class caregiving course is R15,000.00. You can pay an initial deposit of R5,000.00 and then pay R5,000.00 for two months to complete the balance.
The fee for the online caregiving course is R14,894.00, currently discounted to R3,000.00. You can pay by credit card or apply online through Mobicred for a payment plan.
Yes. The practical component of the online caregiver course is provided through video instruction. These videos are detailed, easy to follow and supported by clear explanations of the practical steps.
The video practicals can also be used as a follow-along guide, allowing you to learn and practise important caregiving skills in a structured way. This helps online students gain a better understanding of practical caregiving tasks, even when they are not attending in-person classes.
The First Class Caregiving management team is in lectures most of the day. You are welcome to attend our open day on Saturdays from 10 am to 11 am.
For a quicker response, please send us a detailed email with your enquiry. This allows us to review your question properly and respond with the most helpful information.
If you already have caregiving experience, you would still need to register for the course, complete the course content and complete the exam quiz to obtain a certificate of completion from First Class Caregiving.
Experience is valuable, but the certificate is issued after completing our structured course and assessment process.
To register for our caregiving course, you must be 18 years of age or older. You must also be able to read, write and speak English, as the course material, instructions and assessments are provided in English.
Yes. We have made payment plan options available through our payment gateway providers. Please visit their websites to see how the payment process works.
Unfortunately, we cannot assist with using the payment gateway services directly. You must contact Float and Mobicred directly to apply for one of their payment plans and to understand their specific requirements, approvals and terms.
To get started, you need to choose the course that best suits your needs, enrol and pay for the course you selected. Once your registration and payment have been completed, you can begin the learning process.
For online students, access becomes available after registration and payment. For in-class students, you may contact us by email or WhatsApp to find out more about the next available intake.
No. We do not provide accommodation at our college. If you are unable to travel or stay near the college, we recommend considering the online course, as it covers the theory and practical components in a flexible format.
We have several registrations and recognitions with international caregiving organisations. These recognitions help support the credibility of our training and reflect our commitment to providing caregiving education that meets recognised standards.
Our online courses can be done at your own time and pace. This makes them suitable for students who are working, caring for family members, living outside Johannesburg, or studying from another country.

Many students have completed our courses and found work overseas in various countries. While employment depends on each student’s own application process, employer requirements, immigration rules and country-specific criteria, our qualifications have been used by students working abroad.
This caregiving FAQ is often especially helpful for students who are exploring local and international opportunities and want to understand how our training may support their future career plans.
Yes. Our online courses are internationally recognised. You can view our recognition certificates on our About Us page.
The online course is open to everyone and is available to students in all countries in Africa. Foreign students may also apply to attend in-class courses.
If you are outside South Africa or planning to travel for in-class training, we recommend contacting us first so that you can confirm the course details, requirements and practical arrangements before making any travel plans.
We offer both an online caregiving course and an in-class caregiving course. The online course is ideal for students who need flexibility, are currently working, live far from Johannesburg, or prefer to study at their own pace.
Our in-class option is available for students who prefer face-to-face learning and direct practical instruction. Both options are designed to help students gain the caregiving knowledge and skills needed to care for others with dignity, compassion and confidence.
The online practical training is delivered through detailed video demonstrations. These videos are designed to show students how caregiving tasks are carried out, while also explaining the purpose and importance of each task.
This format allows students to watch, pause, review and repeat the practical demonstrations as needed. It is especially helpful for students who want to build confidence before applying their skills in real-world caregiving environments.
Yes. The online course is a strong option for students who do not live close to our Johannesburg location. It covers both theory and practical components, making it accessible to students throughout South Africa, across Africa and in other countries.

This ensures that every student who receives our certificate has completed our course content and met our assessment requirements.
Completing the course can help prepare you for caregiving opportunities, but no training provider can guarantee automatic employment. Job outcomes depend on your application, interview performance, employer requirements, references, experience, destination country requirements and available positions.
We do, however, offer placement programme options and access to information that may assist you once you have completed your course.
Many students have used our qualifications when applying for caregiving work abroad. We also have information on sponsorship placement companies in the UK, most European countries, Australia, and the UAE.
Students should always check the latest immigration, visa, sponsorship and employer requirements for the specific country where they wish to work.
